The Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides its educational services to more than 7 million male and female students in all stages of general and university education, in light of the qualitative shift witnessed by Saudi education in various fields and stages; reaching the improvement of its outputs and outcomes, in line with the requirements of the era and its changes.
Education in the Kingdom is considered a national priority, a means of investing in the sons and daughters of the nation, and a major driver; to achieve the goals of sustainable development, as it focuses on developing the educational stage; To prepare young people to join the labor market early, develop student skills, and support the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, through developing plans and curricula, adding new subjects, in addition to many initiatives and programs such as; implementing the specialized tracks system in secondary school, and increasing the percentage of assigning boys' education in primary grades to female teachers in early childhood schools.
The development of the educational system in the Kingdom coincides with future needs, national and global trends, and the goals of the Human Capacity Development Program and Saudi Vision 2030, as the Kingdom was able to achieve advanced results in a number of international indicators and global competitiveness reports related to education, and improved its classification in scientific research indicators, in addition to raising the ranking of Saudi universities in global classifications. The Kingdom also paid great attention to scholarships, through governing its procedures and developing its tools to serve students on scholarships in international universities within the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Foreign Scholarships.
The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" aims to discover and nurture gifted and creative students in scientific fields with developmental priority, and to build a system for talent and creativity locally, regionally and globally, deriving this from its vision of empowering talent and creativity as the main tributary for the prosperity of humanity, and its clear mission towards creating an environment that stimulates talent and creativity and enhances the passion for science and knowledge to build future leaders and serve humanity.
Mawhiba seeks, through Its objectives and the development of its strategic plans in nurturing talent and creativity and supporting innovation, guided by the best international experiences and with the contribution of international and local experts to effectively contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The plan included developing a scientific methodology to discover and nurture talents through the "National Program for Discovering Talents", through which, over the course of 13 years, more than 180,000 male and female students from all cities of the Kingdom were discovered in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
Mawhiba offers 20 different initiatives to nurture talents, from which thousands of talented people benefit annually. They represent an integrated national database of the best minds in the country, both male and female talents. Mawhiba's participation and sponsorship of these students has borne fruit through the Kingdom's achievements at the international level in international scientific competitions, as the Kingdom's students won +700 medals and awards in international scientific competitions. While more than 1,000 male and female students were accepted into the top 50 prestigious international universities, in qualitative specializations.
